Council recently released a community survey to gather feedback on Dinner Plain Activation Phase 2 and Dinner Plain Snowmaking projects.

Acting Manager Asset Development Owen Kerlin said Council received 139 responses for Phase 2 and 130 responses for Snowmaking, gaining valuable insight into community views on the draft concepts.

“The Dinner Plain community - including residents, business operators and non-resident ratepayers - have provided us with some really important feedback and helped shape these projects,” he said.

“We appreciate the community taking time to view the concept designs, respond to the survey and provide feedback on key elements.

“This feedback will be incorporated into the detailed design where possible.”

The survey results and concept designs will be presented to Councillors at the November Council Meeting, seeking approval to move to the detailed design phase.

Survey feedback identified elements of the concept designs that survey respondents were seeking to change, including retaining the stone walls at the entrance to Dinner Plain, and a review of the design of the all-weather shelter.

Mr Kerlin said the responses helped project officers to better understand the community’s priorities, and make changes to the concept plans accordingly.

“This was a really great example of the community influencing the final outcome of a project, and Council being guided by the views of residents, business operators and ratepayers,” he said.

Community feedback from the survey will be incorporated into the detailed design where possible. Council will keep the community up-to-date on the project as it progresses.
