Alpine Shire Mayor John Forsyth said volunteers are a crucial part of Council's goal to provide a high level of customer service to residents and visitors.

"We're seeking people who are ready to make a positive impact and contribute to memorable experiences for everyone who comes through our doors," he said.

"This opportunity is perfect for those who love community, enjoy engaging with people, and are keen to share their knowledge about our region."

Volunteer responsibilities include answering enquiries face-to-face and via telephone.

Volunteers are asked to commit to at least two shifts per month, either from 9.00am to 12.00pm or 12.00pm to 3.00pm, with plenty of flexibility for those interested.

To ensure that all volunteers are well-equipped to deliver the best possible customer experience, comprehensive training is provided.

Volunteers will also have the opportunity to attend various events and training workshops throughout the year.

"These events include information sessions and familiarisation tours (famils), which are a fantastic way to connect with other volunteers, local businesses, and the dedicated staff of the Visitor Information Centres," Cr Forsyth said.

"If you are a fun-loving, local enthusiast looking to make a positive impact on your community and connect with like-minded individuals, then joining the Myrtleford and Mount Beauty Visitor Information Centre teams as a volunteer is the perfect opportunity for you."
