From time to time road works and/or large projects require the partial or complete closure of roads within the Alpine Shire.
This also applies to events held within the Shire. The information below outlines any upcoming road closures of which residents and/or visitors should be aware.

Dargo High Plains Road
The Dargo High Plains Road closed for the winter season on 12pm on Tuesday, 11 June 2024.
The road is expected to reopen in late spring or early summer, contingent on weather conditions.
Updates regarding the reopening will be provided later this year.

Bogong High Plains Road
Both lanes of the Bogong High Plains Road between Falls Creek and Mount Beauty are now open.
Bright Make it Bake it Grow it Monthly Market
6am - 1.30pm on every 3rd Saturday of the month.
The Howitt Park soundshell car park will be closed to allow for the safe staging of the monthly market.
Harrietville Half Marathon
6am – 12.30pm on Saturday, 13 October 2024.
There will be increased runners on the M2M Rail Trail from Bright to Harrietville during this event.
Please avoid use of the Rail Trail during this time.
Bright Twilight Tastings
2pm – 9pm on Thursday, 17 October 2024.
The following roads in Bright will be closed to allow for the safe staging of the event:

A Little Bit of Relief Farming Expo
8am – 5pm on Friday, 18 October 2024.
Kiewa Valley Highway in Dederang between Rowe Lane and Rogers Lane will be subject to speed restrictions during this event.
Myrtleford Show
9am – 9pm on Saturday, 26 October 2024.
Speed reductions will be in place along O'Donnell Avenue/Myrtleford-Yackandandah Road to allow for the safe staging of the event.
Event Parking
Parking available at the end of Conifer Street.
No public parking within the showgrounds or along Conifer Street.
To access parking, please enter the service road at the Mummery Road end and follow the directions of the traffic marshals.
Fireworks
Fireworks will begin at approximately 8.50pm and finish at 9pm. Please ensure you secure your pets prior to the fireworks.
Bright Alpine Climb - 4 Peaks Run
The following roads will be subject to speed restrictions and increased pedestrian traffic during the Bright Alpine Climb. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and expect delays.

Bright Rod Run
Changed traffic conditions for Bright CBD from 7am on Thursday, 7 November 2024 to 12pm on Monday, 11 November 2024.
Barriers will be installed in the following locations to manage traffic flow:

Vehicles may turn left into Ireland Street roundabout from Railway Ave and continue through to Anderson Street only before exiting left into Gavan Street at the roundabout.

Vehicles may turn left into Barnard Street and left into Camp Street.

No right turns or u-turns are permitted in the CBD, barriers will be in place to control the flow of traffic.

Parking in marked bays only. No parking on median strips.
CBD roads will be closed for the following times as advised by police:

10pm on Sunday, 10 to 12pm on Monday, 11 November (Remembrance Day)
The V/Line bus stop in Anderson Street will be located on Gavan Street opposite Woolworths for the duration of the event.

Important notice: Residents and visitors are reminded that NO VEHICLES can be moved during the locations above after the stated road closure times as this will prevent the event from commencing.
