Taking place from Saturday, 16 May 2026 through to Friday, 22 May 2026, Wellbeing Week invites people of all ages and interests to attend free community workshops in Bright and Myrtleford.

Wellbeing Week is an initiative developed through the collective passion and determination of Myrtleford Football Netball Club, Alpine Health, schools within the Ovens Valley, and other sponsors and organisers across Alpine Shire.

Free events include Sacred Scent with Lee Couch, The Good Human Factory with Cooper Chapman, a men's mental health presentation with experienced suicide prevention speaker, Chris Pidd, and a resilience workshop with Wellways.

To launch Wellbeing Week, community members are also invited to purchase a ticket to the Mental Wellbeing Dinner with sport psychologist, Anthony Klarica.

Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, commended the organising committee for shining a light on mental health for both young people and adults.

"Initiatives like Wellbeing Week are valuable because they remind us that, while it's very normal for people to experience periods of low mental health, there are supports available to help us check in on ourselves, and others to manage escalation," she said.

"These initiatives also provide opportunities to come together, connect with people, and contribute to our community, which is known to improve mental attitudes.

"One of the most powerful things that we can do is talk about how we're feeling so that we continue to normalise these conversations."
