Make a splash
Outdoor swimming pools in Mount Beauty and Myrtleford are open every day, offering a great way to beat the heat. In Bright, families can enjoy the free Splash Park, providing a fun and refreshing escape from the high temperatures.

Extended library hours
Libraries offer air-conditioned spaces, comfortable seating, and plenty of books to enjoy while escaping the heat. To support the community during the hot weather, library opening hours have been extended:

  • Bright and Myrtleford Libraries will be open until 7pm on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Mount Beauty Library will be open until 7pm on Tuesday.

Stay cool at Myrtleford RSL
Myrtleford RSL Hall will be open as a cooling space from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The hall will provide air conditioning, cool water, and power outlets for charging devices. Council thanks the Myrtleford RSL for their support in offering this space.

Visitor Information Centres available
For those out and about, Visitor Information Centres in the Alpine Shire offer air-conditioned spaces where people can take a break from the heat, learn more about the region, and in Mount Beauty, even visit the museum.

Council encourages everyone to stay hydrated, avoid excessive outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, and check in on vulnerable family members and neighbours. Don’t forget to keep pets cool with plenty of shade and fresh water.
