Alpine Shire Council is pleased to share the draft Community Vision and Council Plan 2025-29, including the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) 2025-29 – the result of months of collaboration, conversations, and careful planning.
These documents set out our shared goals for the next four years and reflect the priorities, challenges, and hopes that our community has shared with us.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, said the draft Plan is a testament to the time and thought that the community, Councillors, and Council staff have invested in the process.
"Since July 2024, we’ve been out in the community – listening, learning, and talking with people from all corners of our Shire," she said.
"Through surveys, pop-ups, youth engagement, community panels, and workshops, we’ve heard a wide range of voices and stories. This Plan is built on what we’ve heard."
Cr Nicholas said the engagement process helped ensure the Plan is grounded in community needs and realistically resourced.
"We’re so grateful to everyone who took the time to share their ideas, feedback, and lived experiences – especially our Community Panel members, who gave up their time to dig into the big issues with us," she said.
"Now it’s over to the wider community to take a look at the draft Plan and let us know if we’ve got it right."
The draft Plan is on public exhibition for 28 days, with submissions closing at 5pm on Tuesday, 27 May 2025.
Council will be popping up at local events and markets across the Shire throughout the month of May to chat with residents and gather more feedback:
