The annual Events Funding Program supports a diverse range of local events that contribute to the adventure, culture, and economy of Dinner Plain.

Earlier this year, Council awarded the Dinner Plain Community Association $4,000 for their event, It's a Long Way to the Top, through Round 1 of the Events Funding Program.

Now, Council invites applications for Round 2.

Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, encouraged community members and event organisers to look to Dinner Plain as the next destination for their event.

"We are blessed to have access to such beautiful environments in our region, and especially in Dinner Plain," she said.

"It is a place that invites curiosity, play, and adventure – perfect for big and small events alike."

Sustainability and waste management are key components of the funding criteria for Council's Event Funding Program, aligning with their commitment to reducing waste and boosting environmental awareness through events held across Alpine Shire.

Community members and event organisers can learn more and apply by visiting https://www.alpineshire.vic.gov.au/community-services/grants-awards/event-funding-program

Applications for Round 2 of the Dinner Plain Event Funding Program closes at 11.59pm on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
