The Alpine Shire Youth Creative Series saw 85 young people learn a range of practical crafts from local creatives across Alpine Shire, including digital garment printing, painting, photography, pottery, and sewing.
Through a series of free workshops held between February and March 2026, young people were invited to learn hands-on crafts that drew upon their imaginations and expanded their creative skills.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, applauded the team behind Alpine Shire Youth for organising the Creative Series for young people, with workshops held in Bright, Mount Beauty, and Myrtleford.
"It is terrific to hear that 85 young people took the opportunity to enjoy learning something different and new or build on and expand creative activities they had already tried," she said.
"We thank the many talented people across our region for giving their time to not only teach young people elements of their craft, but also pass along the joy of creativity to the next generation."
The workshops were organised by the team behind Alpine Shire Youth and facilitated by Alpine Armour, Bright Art Bar, Clay by Tina, Little Stitches, and Sini Louhela.
Cr Nicholas encouraged young people to get involved with the different programs and initiatives that Alpine Shire Youth run for young people aged 12-21 across the region.
"Whether you simply want to know what's going on, or whether you're more interested in learning what happens behind the scenes, you can find out more by talking to the Alpine Shire Youth team," she said.
"A good starting place is to visit the online Youth Hub on Engage Alpine.
"From here, you can learn more about the latest news and opportunities, as well as follow the page to get updates directly to your email inbox."
