Community members across Alpine Shire are invited to three additional drop-in sessions to help shape the Alpine Shire Rural Directions Strategy.
Alpine Shire Council is developing a Rural Directions Strategy, which will investigate and provide strategic direction and guidance for rural land use, including a consistent approach to planning assessments and decision making.
Community members were invited to contribute to the development of the strategy in May 2025 via a series of three in-person workshops and one online workshop. Council now encourages rural landowners and users, as well as other community members, to attend additional drop-in sessions with members of Council's Strategic Planning team.
These drop-in sessions will take place in Harrietville, Tawonga, and Wandiligong, with the aim to understand the rural issues faced by locals living and working in these smaller towns and surrounding areas. Community members do not have to register to attend these drop-in sessions.
For those who are unable to attend any of the drop-in sessions, there are still opportunities to help shape the strategy by completing the online survey or writing directly to members of Council's Strategic Planning team.
