The meeting room in the Mount Beauty Community Centre was identified as being underutilised and Council is now seeking to understand the preferred usage of this room.

The meeting room is located to the user's right as they walk into the building using the front door entrance.

Council has identified potential uses for this room including as a community space, any economic development initiative, or other social uses.

Community members from across the Upper Kiewa Valley and other interested parties are invited to provide feedback on current usage of the meeting room and present their ideas for future use.

However, all submitters are advised that the Community Centre is used for a variety of purposes and any proposal will need to work harmoniously with other user groups who may be using other parts of the Centre at the same time.

If a suitable use is proposed and supported for the meeting room, Council will undertake a formal expression of interest process before leasing this or any other space for this purpose, in accordance with Section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020.

This process ensures that all interested parties have the opportunity to submit proposals for the use of this space.

To submit feedback or present a proposal for use, visit https://engage.alpineshire.vic.gov.au/feedback-and-ideas-mount-beauty-community-centre

Submissions will close at 5pm on Friday, 24 October 2025.
