To celebrate National Volunteer Week, Alpine Shire Council invites community members from across Alpine Shire to free BBQs in Myrtleford, Bright, and Mount Beauty.
National Volunteer Week – taking place from Monday, 19 May through to Sunday, 25 May – acknowledges the significant work of volunteers, encapsulated in the 2025 theme of Connecting Communities.
Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, celebrated these opportunities to bring people together, acknowledging that volunteerism takes many forms and can look different for different people.
"While we often associate volunteering with organised groups or large-scale initiatives, it can be as simple as lending a hand to a friend who needs help with something they cannot do alone," she said.
"Almost everyone has volunteered in some capacity throughout their lives, and so I warmly invite people from across Alpine Shire to attend these community BBQs and celebrate the positive impact they have made by helping others."
Community members are invited to attend free BBQs during National Volunteer Week.
