Beyond the Beaconsfield Mine will be held at Myrtleford Memorial Hall on Tuesday, 21 May 2026 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The event will include an honest conversation about men's mental health, with community members having the opportunity to hear not only what the experience was like, but what has followed.

Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr Sarah Nicholas, encouraged people to attend this rare opportunity to hear first-hand about this life-altering event.

"Todd's story is not only one of resilience, but also one about how to navigate life after experiencing such an immense disaster," she said.

"We know that, while we are hearing from more men about their mental health, every story helps to break down stigma and help other men and young boys talk openly about what they're going through."

Cr Nicholas also reminded people that mental health is a continuum, and that everyone goes through periods of good mental health and poor mental health.

"As with our physical health, it's about recognising when we're feeling unwell and seeking support to help us feel better," she said.

"We have a number of local and national services listed on our website that can help you get the support that you need, or give you the tools to support the people around you when they need it."

Funds raised from the event will support Tony’s Trek 2026 – Paddle for Awareness, raising support for emergency services personnel through the Emergency Services Foundation.
