Celebrate Italian culture through immersive exhibition held at historic Myrtleford Memorial Hall

Together with the Myrtleford Visitor Information Centre, Alpine Shire Council invites community members to an immersive exhibition that celebrates the Italian heritage of Myrtleford.

Showcasing the work of local Myrtleford designer and photographer, Giordana Genero, "Mapping the Italian Heritage of Myrtleford through Immersive Exhibition Design" is a curated collection of pieces that explores Genero's Italian heritage, including photography, woodwork, and archival materials and artefacts.

The collection celebrates Italian identity in Myrtleford through the stories that were passed down through generations of immigration, sacrifice, working life, family, and community. 

Community members are invited to explore the exhibition, which will be open to the public between 10.30am and 3pm from Thursday, 14 May 2026 to Sunday, 17 May 2026.

An opening event will take place on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 from 7pm, with the Myrtleford VIC opening for entry into the exhibition. 

Attendees will be able to purchase items from the Myrtleford VIC during the opening event, excluding alcohol.

  • Location: Myrtleford Memorial Hall (entry through the Myrtleford VIC)
  • Date: Wednesday, 13 May 2026
  • Time: From 7pm
  • Cost: $5 per person

A light supper will be provided.
