Community Bushfire Recovery Event Funding Program
Community groups and organisations provide vital services and support to Alpine Shire residents.
Supported by State Government bushfire funding, Alpine Shire Council is providing a funding opportunity to assist groups/individuals to contribute to the community recovery following the 2019-2020 bushfires.
Community Bushfire Recovery Event Funding Program 2020-2021

Supported by Australian and Victorian governments under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), the Community Bushfire Recovery (CBR) Event funding program supports activities and initiatives that bring bushfire affected communities together, build resilience and raise awareness of support services.
CBR event funding is designed to support small community events that:
- Attract participation mostly from Alpine Shire, Falls Creek and Mount Hotham communities that are planned and managed in line with the Victorian Government's Public Event Framework to meet safety obligations and responsibilities during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
- Create a sense of community
- Encourage the community to get involved
- Celebrate local culture and/or
- Contribute to wellbeing
- Improve knowledge and awareness of bushfire recovery support services

Funding timelines
The Community Bushfire Event Funding Program is now closed. The program was open to event organisers or community groups hosting events within the Alpine Shire between March 2021 and December 2021.
Applications closed at 10pm Sunday 10 January 2021.

Into Our Hands Foundation was established after the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009. It is a community foundation that invests in projects and initiatives aimed at building the capacity, strength, cohesiveness and wellbeing of the many smaller communities within the Shires of Alpine, Indigo and Wangaratta. Special emphasis is given to projects and initiatives within the communities of Barwidgee Creek, Bruarong, Dederang, Gundowring, Kancoona, Mudgegonga, Murmungee, Rosewhite, Running Creek and Stanley.
Our Community provides advice, tools, resources and training in relation to fundraising and grants for not-for-profit organisations and schools as well as businesses and individuals
Sport and Recreation Victoria provide a range of grants and funding to support sport and recreation in Victoria from local community clubs through to the elite level.
WAW support groups within our community either via financial sponsorship agreements or through contributions of goods and services. Additionally, WAW support regional programs that deliver positive educational, medical or safety outcomes to the community.
