The CALD Early Years Outreach Program is a free service that supports families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who live, work, play or study in Alpine Shire.
The free CALD Early Years Outreach Program supports inclusion and participation of CALD children in early years services across Alpine Shire.
The Program offers support to help children and families access essential services, including:
Accessing kindergarten for your child
- Providing information on 3-year-old and 4-year-old kindergarten and prep
- Helping with registering and enrolling your child
- Supporting families to attend kindergarten regularly
Early years services
- Helping connect your family with local services like Maternal and Child Health (MCH), playgroups, immunisations, library facilities, and other early childhood services
Starting school
- Working with your family, schools, and teachers to help your child move smoothly from kindergarten to school
- Advocating for cultural awareness and inclusion within early childhood education
- Engaging with interpreters to support understanding
