Legal Point of Discharge

A Legal Point of Discharge (LPOD) is a single location where stormwater drains away from your property.

Every property owner is responsible for ensuring that any stormwater that collects on their property is able to drain away to a Legal Point of Discharge (LPOD) through their private stormwater system.

The LPOD provides a single, specified location for stormwater to move into a drain, a street kerb and channel, or an open earth drain.

We are responsible for a network of stormwater and drainage assets, which are designed to ensure that stormwater is drained in a way that keeps our footpaths and roads safe for pedestrian access.

You may need to apply for the location of the LPOD if you are planning to build or renovate your property.
