Join our innovative Waste Operations Team on a part time basis (minimum of 19.5 hours/fortnight) as a Transfer Station Attendant. This opportunity suits an enthusiastic person who enjoys working outdoors to work directly with our community and apply your customer service skills to assist in the operations of our Transfer Stations across the shire.

How you’ll make a difference

In the role, you will be based across our three Transfer Stations in Mount Beauty, Myrtleford and Porepunkah. You will deliver excellent customer service to customers and provide information of best practice guidelines in waste management.

The successful candidate will be available to work on a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays, across all three of our Transfer Station locations.

Training will be provided to ensure you work safely and effectively in the waste operations environment.

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate is a team player who has the following qualifications/experience:

  • Drivers licence .
  • Experience using iPads, has an understanding of basic IT and experience using emails.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Communicate disposal procedures to customers to ensure customers unload materials in correct locations.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Experience in customer transactions, reconcile fees collected and perform banking duties.
  • Front loader licence would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility in working hours (including weekend and public holiday shifts).

  • Secure a Part time permanent position that will see you working in our Transfer Stations in Mount Beauty, Porepunkah and Myrtleford.
  • Wage based on Band 3 classification, from $42.85 per hour (incl. Industry Allowance and Special Engagement Allowance) + Superannuation.
  • Approximately two shifts currently available per fortnight plus additional shifts as required when extra shifts are available. 
    • A minimum of 19.5 hours per fortnight.
