Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of a small team delivering high-quality gardening, landscaping, and civil maintenance works across our facilities and public spaces.
This hands-on leadership role requires you to have strong organisational skills, practical knowledge, and the ability to guide and support a team in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
How you’ll make a difference
As team leader you will supervise and coordinate the maintenance crew undertaking gardening and grounds maintenance (mowing, pruning, planting, weed control) and civil works (path repairs drainage maintenance, small concreting tasks) and the upkeep and maintenance of open spaces across the Kiewa Valley.
You will be responsible for planning and prioritising daily and weekly work schedules and ensuring that all works are completed safely and in line with relevant standards and policies.
You will undertake key responsibilities in a professional, efficient, and timely manner; and contribute to Council’s aim of being a values-based organisation.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous relevant industry experience would be highly desirable, such as:
- Certificate III in Horticulture
- Parks and Gardens
- Landscaping
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
Great customer service and good communication skills and the ability to use technology such as iPads and email in the course of your work will be required.

- Band 4 Alpine Shire Council Enterprise Agreement.
- Starting hourly wage at Band 4A: $36.77/hr (including industry allowance) + Super + Leave Loading.
