Project Manager (Buildings)

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and community focused individual to deliver building projects as part of a large building program. You will have project management experience, ideally within building and construction.

 

Responsibilities & how you will make a difference:

  • End-to-end project management of a portfolio of projects.
  • Project managing a range of Capital works projects across the Alpine Shire.
  • Ensuring project milestones are met, and that delivery, performance and financial targets are achieved.
  • Assisting in the establishment of relationships with diverse stakeholders to manage risks and resolve issues impacting project delivery, including managing sensitive negotiations.
  • Overseeing and assessing designs and specifications submitted by consultants for compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations and Council policies.
  • Oversee site inspections of works for compliance with approved designs and relevant standards.
  • Deliver the scoping of asset renewal projects for delivery by either of Council’s Operations or Asset and Engineering teams. 

 

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Building and Construction and/or relevant experience.
    • Project management experience in local government would be desirable.
  • End-to-end project management experience in building and civil construction is highly desirable.
  • Experience with contract administration.
  • Experience dealing with planning permits.
  • Strong written skills ability to write reports and prepare external correspondence.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing diverse workloads to meet deadline and budget targets.
    • Including exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Monthly RDOs & the possibility of other flexible arrangements.
  • Alpine Shire Council 2023 Enterprise Agreement.
    • Band 7A annual salary: $100,353, plus leave loading & superannuation.
