Project Manager

We’re looking for a new member to join our capital works team who is capable of managing infrastructure projects from concept to completion!

This is one of the best roles to meet and learn from everyone in council, with many big opportunities. As a Project Manager, you will have a very broad experience of our community and will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of your projects, through planning, design and delivery.

In your role, you will be responsible for:

  • End-to-end project management of a portfolio of projects.
  • Project managing a range of Capital works projects across the Alpine Shire.
  • Ensuring project milestones are met, and that delivery, performance and financial targets are achieved.
  • Assisting in the establishment of relationships with diverse stakeholders to manage risks and resolve issues impacting project delivery, including managing sensitive negotiations.
  • Overseeing and assessing designs and specifications submitted by consultants for compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations and Council policies.
  • Oversee site inspections of works for compliance with approved designs and relevant standards.
  • Deliver the scoping of asset renewal projects for delivery by either of Council’s Operations or Asset and Engineering teams. 

You will undertake these responsibilities in a professional, efficient and timely manner, and contribute to Council’s aim of being a high performing, customer-focused organisation. You will deliver compliant services, and in a way which provides best value to Council. 

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Building and Construction or relevant experience.
  • End-to-end project management experience.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience with contract administration. 
  • Problem-solving skills and self-initiative.
  • Experience dealing with planning permits. 
  • Microsoft Suite proficiency.
  • Strong ability to write reports and prepare external correspondence.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing diverse workloads to meet deadlines and budget targets.
  • Local government project management experience would be highly desirable.

    • Band 6A Salary Starting at $89,979.37 per year + Leave Loading + Super.
