How you'll make a difference
This is an operational leadership role responsible for overseeing the coordination of the renewal and upgrade programs of civil infrastructure, including roads, paths, stormwater and bridges. Working closely with our maintenance teams, the position will provide engineering support and liaise with Councils Capital works team to provide annual renewal and upgrade program scopes for delivery.

Our ideal candidate
You will have many qualities, in particular strong people leadership, extensive civil infrastructure design experience, the ability to develop processes using Lean guidelines, interpretation of relevant legislation and project budgeting and a standout passion for service excellence. You will have excellent communication and relationship skills, which will lead, support and motivate your team. Your record of achieving outstanding results will speak for itself, and you will bring a set of skills that will be of great value to the Alpine Shire.
Your skills will include:
- Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Leadership experience in the public or private sector
- Knowledge and experience in the application of civil works and municipal infrastructure maintenance practices.
- Design supervision and organisation of civil engineering activities/projects
