How you'll make a difference
As a Local Laws Officer, you will:
- Deliver responsive Local Laws and relevant State legislation services to our customers
- Assess and issue Local Laws permits for the Shire
- Assist customers with enquiries on Local Laws, animal management, and other community issues
- Support processes across areas such as traffic and parking management, animal control, and fire prevention
- Promote Council activities in a proactive and positive way
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Local Laws processes and systems

Our ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- The ability to remain courteous, professional, and discreet at all times
- Strong time management and multi tasking skills
- Confidence using technology and software solutions
- A genuine passion for community wellbeing, animal welfare and local engagement
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Statutory Compliance) and/or Animal Management (desirable)
- Current Working with Children Check
