About the position

An ideal part-time (20 hours/fortnight) opportunity exists for a person that is passionate about Libraries to join our team in delivering a high quality and innovative library service to our community.

We are very lucky in the Alpine Shire to have three wonderful libraries for our community to visit, explore and enjoy. As part of our team, you will assist in effectively delivering comprehensive and timely library support and customer service to our communities.

You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and use technology and innovative software solutions to get your job done well!

You’ll be available and willing to work Saturdays and across our three Library locations from time to time.

Your flexibility, enthusiasm and confidence will have a positive influence our customers and other team members! Additionally, your professionalism will enhance Council’s reputation as a responsive and efficient organisation.

Ideally, you will also have:  

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills & excellent customer service.
  • Sound computer skills and an eagerness to learn different systems.
  • Certificate 4 or tertiary qualification recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association is desirable.
  • Valid Victorian Working with Children Check (can be acquired prior to commencement).
  • An energetic and engaging personality

  • Permanent Part-Time Position
    • 20 hours per fortnight (0.26 FTE)
    • Shifts are rostered from Monday through Saturday.
  • Alpine Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2023: Band 3
    • Band 3A Hourly rate: commencing at $33.75 per hour + Super + Leave Loading
  • Based in Bright and/or Mount Beauty, with shifts in Myrtleford from time to time
