Throughout the Shire, community events will be held on Friday, 26 January, to award this year's recipients of the Community Awards and celebrate those who contribute selflessly to their community.

Alpine Shire Mayor, John Forsyth, emphasised the importance of these awards as a way to discover and recognise the many ways residents enrich their local communities.

"The awards demonstrate the amazing efforts of residents from across the Shire - be it excelling in their chosen fields, giving back to the community, displaying strength and resilience during tough times, or contributing to the vibrancy of our towns," he said.

"Our Community Awards provide an opportunity to learn more about the efforts of these individuals and acknowledge their invaluable roles in shaping the Alpine Shire we know and love.

"These awards are not only a celebration of the recipients, but also a chance to recognise all nominees and the countless unsung heroes in our communities," he added.

Community members and visitors are invited to join in community events being held across the Alpine Shire on Friday, 26 January.
