Council is embarking on an exciting strategic planning project that will outline the strategic direction and priorities for our future.
Throughout this project Council will be developing a:
Community Vision - a long-term vision that outlines the aspirations and goals of the Alpine Share community and what you want to see in the future
Council Plan – a four year plan that outlines how Council’s role and hot it will pursue the aspirations and goals outlined in the Community Vison and other strategic priorities.
Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan – which includes an examination of the health and wellbeing of our community, setting goals and strategies with the assistance of community feedback to achieve better public health and wellbeing, and measuring our success.
Financial Plan – a long-term plan that ensures the Council has the financial resources to implement its plans and strategies over the coming years
Asset Plan – provides a view of how the Council proposes to manage the full portfolio of assets that it owns.
How you can be involved
Phase 1 - Community Engagement
From 11 March – 1 April 2021 we are encouraging all residents of the Alpine Shire to participate in the first phase of engagement and share their aspirations, insights and ideas for our Community Vision and Council Plan incorporating the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
Your feedback will also inform other important projects that are being undertaken like Council’s Land Development Strategy and Planning Scheme Review.
You can have your say by:
Completing a short online survey to capture your views
Pick up a copy of the survey at the Bright Council Office or Bright, Myrtleford and Mount Beauty Libraries and submitting it at this location
Joining us at one of the Community Pop-up events happening near you:
Bright – Friday, 19th March 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Location: On the lawn just south of Mafeking Square clocktower
Mount Beauty – Saturday, 20th March 9:00am 12:00pm
Location: Hollonds St outside the Community Centre
Myrtleford – Saturday, 27th March 9:00am – 12:00pm
It’s vital that you, our community, let us know what you think, to ensure the final decision is reflective of your needs!
The survey closes at 5pm Thursday, 1 April 2021.
The feedback received will feed into the deliberations of a Community Panel made up of Alpine Shire residents who will form recommendations to Council in the development of the Community Vision and Council Plan.
The panel will consist of a group of up to 40 Alpine Shire residents who are representatives of the Alpine Shire population.
More information about recruitment to the panel will be provided shortly.
