ALCOHOL restrictions will be in place in Bright this weekend to coincide with when the 2020 Bright’s Iconic Rod Run would have taken place.

While the Rod Run was cancelled due to COVID-19, Alpine Shire Council Chief Executive Officer said Council was aware that regular participants may visit Bright this weekend.
“In line with the decision made at the April Council meeting, alcohol restrictions will be in place in public places in the Bright township from 10pm tonight (Thursday 5 November) to 7am on Monday, 9 November 2020,” Mr Bird said.
“The restrictions apply on all Council-owned and managed land within the 60kmh and below speed zone area of the Bright township.”
Mr Bird said the approach had been taken to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the community remains a top priority.
“We have engaged directly with licenced businesses in Bright and the temporary restrictions to alcohol in public places do not impact their current arrangements,” he said.
“We hope it is a great weekend, enjoyed by all, and we trust everyone will comply with the current Victorian Government Stage 3 restriction and adhere with social distancing while in our Shire.”
