Master planning for Pioneer Park in Bright, the Sports and Education Precinct in Mount Beauty, and Myrtleford’s town centre sports and recreation facilities is currently underway in order to meet both the existing and future needs of the community. as identified in Council’s recently completed Sport and Active Recreation Plan.
Each of these sites provides an array of sport and active recreation spaces and infrastructure of various sizes, ages, layout and condition.
Council is currently seeking input from regular users of these sites to help us address some of the key challenges we face, including improving accessibility and inclusiveness for all, finding ways to better activate spaces, determining the need for renewals or additional facilities and infrastructure.
Input from the community will also help determine the best location for specific sport and active recreation activities, and create improved opportunities for informal recreational opportunities.
Council has recently met face-to-face with formal sports and recreation user groups of each location and would also like to hear from individual or informal users.
Whether you visit the playgrounds with your children, use parks for exercise, or meet with friends for casual sports and activities, we’d love to hear from everybody who is interested in the future of these areas.
The Sports and Recreation Master Plans survey is now open and will close at 5pm on Friday, 24 March.
