Sustainable Economy, Sustainable Community
A healthy economy is central to a thriving community and a sustainable region. Many factors influence the strength, health and future of our local economy.
Alpine Shire Council plays a role in both immediate support to local businesses and employers and longer-term thinking about the sustainability of our local and regional economy.
Over the next few months we will be giving specific focus to the development of an Economic Development Strategy for the Shire.
We have engaged a team of economic experts to support us with this process and ensure that we take a well-informed approach and identify how we can respond to and make the most of broader global opportunities and trends.
You are invited to contribute your local experience and knowledge to our strategy for a sustainable economic future.
We know that we are working in a time of rapid change and uncertainty. Our communities have been impacted by bushfires and the current global pandemic. We need to respond to these immediate events and identify opportunities for Council to support the rebuild of our local economy, with an eye on the future.
Anyone who lives, works or visits our Shire has an interest in the health of our economy! The success of this Strategy will rely on a ‘whole of community approach’, so please get involved!
What we want to know:
- What are our key economic strengths?
- What are the key influences on our economic future?
- What role can Council play to support the sustainability of our local economy?
- Who can we partner with to encourage innovation and harness our economic opportunities?
