Timeline: 

Late Oct to November 2020

Phase 1: The first consultation phase is critical to understanding key issues and to ensure that key stakeholders needs and requirements are identified. This includes value setting and information gathering.

Mid to Late January 2021

Phase 2: This second phase will involve remote consultation (videoconference) to present ideas and key findings from the Discussion Paper to community and key stakeholders. This will provide a further opportunity for input.

Mid to Late February 2021

Phase 3: This phase will involve remote consultation (video conference) to exhibit the draft report to community and key stakeholders. This will provide a final opportunity for input.

April 2021

The development and outcomes of the Alpine Events Strategy will be driven by extensive consultation process with the Alpine Shire community and industry, to identify and respond to the needs and requirements of local stakeholders.

Engagement update

We have now completed the first phase of consultation with our community and key stakeholders to understand the key issues and values for events held across the Alpine Shire. 

The next phase for this project will involve consultation to present ideas and key findings from the Discussion Paper to our community and key stakeholders. This will provide a further opportunity for input.

How you can be involved

Upcoming engagement opportunities:

  • Have your Say on the Discussion Paper - available in mid-January to mid-February via Public Exhibition

Completed Phase 1 engagement opportunities:

  • Project Reference Groups - EOIs are now closed with successful respondents participating in three key workshop
  • Community-wide survey - now closed
  • Event organiser survey - now closed
  • Pop-Up 'Listening Posts' were set-up across three locations, including:
    • Myrtleford | Monday 23 November, 11am to 1pm | Clyde Street (out the front of Coles)  
    • Mount Beauty | Monday 23 November, 3pm to 5pm | Hollonds Street (next to the Op Shop)
    • Bright | Tuesday 24 November, 12 noon to 2pm | Ireland Street (out the front of the Bright Library
