Calling all bands and solo performers for The Rukkus

14 February 2014

DO you work, live or play in the Alpine Shire, are aged between 12 – 25 and love to perform your own music in front of a crowd?

The Rukkus - Alpine Shire Battle of the Bands is your chance to develop your skills and build your band’s profile.

Local young bands and solo performers have the chance to win their way through to the Battle of the Bands Hume Regional Finals at the Alpine heat in Myrtleford on Saturday, 8 March.

Alpine Shire Council Youth Development Officer Ebony D’Arcy said The Rukkus was the perfect way for young performers to learn more about live performance and receive valuable feedback to help them succeed in the industry.

“Many bands have competed in Battle of the Bands events across the state and are going on to do great things,” she said.

“This is a great place to build your skills as performers, gain experience and valuable feedback that can help set you up on the path to a music career.

“Competitors need to write their own music and be prepared to play a live set of around 15 minutes in duration, made up of mostly original music.”

Last year’s Alpine heat in Bright attracted a strong line-up of performers.
