Road sealing works awarded

ALPINE and Indigo Shire Councils have joined forces to gain the best possible deal for road sealing works.

Now in its sixth year, the cooperation between the two Councils allows for a single tender for the resealing of Alpine and Indigo roads.

Council awarded a contract for the resealing of local roads, worth $333,501, to Downer EDI Works Pty Ltd.

Director Infrastructure Services Ian Ellett said Council undertakes road resealing every year as part of its asset management.

“This year, the roads to be sealed are in the Mount Beauty area,” he said.

“This cooperation provides a competitive price and improved efficiencies and sealing rates.”

The works are funded through the State Government’s Roads to Recovery program and Council’s Capital Works budget.

Sections of the following roads will be sealed:

Gundowring Road, Keegans Lane, Mullagong Road, Bay Creek Lane, Redbank-Mongans Road, Plantation Lane, Charles Street, St Bernard Drive, Kiewa Valley Highway South East Bound Lane, Beauty Avenue, Freeburg Avenue, Roper Street, Reserve Drive Car Park, McKay Street, Reserve Drive, Mountain Avenue,Wermatong Avenue, Embankment Drive, Dederang Street, Havilah Road, Lakeside Avenue, Heberles Road, Coolumbooka Avenue, Buckland Street, Marum and Reid Court, Boat Ramp Road and final seal on Myrtleford-Stanley Road (Stage 2).
