Meetings to assist you to prepare personal and property flood plans

In light of recent extreme events that have impacted on residents in the Alpine Shire, the Alpine Shire Council has partnered with the North East Victorian Division of General Practice to present four meetings to help residents better plan for extreme events in order to minimise damage to their properties.

Other organisations taking part are:
*   SES
*   Rural Finance Counsellors
*   Centrelink
*   Department of Primary Industries, and
*   North East Catchment Management Authority

Residents are now generally familiar with the concept of Fire Plans to help prepare for the bushfire season. These planning meetings are of a similar nature but with a broader focus on planning for floods and other extreme events such as storms.

Residents of Alpine Shire are encouraged to attend one of the following meetings:

Thursday May 12
Bright SES Building, 1.00pm to 3.00pm
Churchill Avenue, Bright

Myrtleford Senior Citizens Building, 7.00pm to 9.00pm
Smith Street, Myrtleford

Friday May 13
Mount Beauty Visitor Information Centre, 9.30am to 11.30am
Kiewa Valley Highway, Tawonga South

Dederang Hotel, 1.00pm to 3.00pm
Kiewa Valley Highway, Dederang
