The foot bridge suffered significant damage from the flood event.

Flood recovery continues

A foot bridge along one of the Alpine Shire’s most popular walking trails, Canyon Walk, has been repaired and reopened to the public after suffering damage during the September floods.

Canyon Walk’s importance, especially to tourists who traditionally flock to the region during the warmer months, resulted in Council acting quickly to fix the bridge.

Council would like to thank local contractors for their quick response that has allowed Council to carry out the recovery process.

Flood recovery works also continue in Bright and Myrtleford with a focus on Howitt and Centenary Parks in Bright.

The full flood damage bill will not be known for at least a month, while recovery works are set to continue for the next two months.
