Current Vacancies

Application procedure
All applicants are requested to include at least the following details in their application:

 Covering letter
 Full name and address
Qualifications held including date of issue. A photocopy of qualifications should be attached
Full details of past work experience, including present position held.
All applicants are required to address the key selection criteria in their application.
At least two professional referees should be nominated, together with details of their current positions and the telephone numbers on which they may be contacted. No contact will be made with these referees without prior approval of the applicant.
Telephone number for contact to arrange an interview.
Any other details relevant to the application.

Do not bind applications or place them in folders. These make it difficult for photocopying and filing and are invariably removed for ease of handling.

Please only send electronic files as Word Documents (.doc) or PDF documents (.PDF).

Council is committed to protecting your privacy. By submitting your application to Council, you agree that Council may use your personal information for the purpose of processing your application. If you are short-listed for interview and reference checking is to take place, Council may contact third parties to obtain more information about you.

Council will, if requested, provide you with access to your personal information. Please contact our Human Resources Officer if you have any queries.

Following the nominated close date, we generally take one week to prepare a short list of candidates for interview. Candidates who are short-listed will be contacted by telephone to arrange an interview time. The remaining candidates will not be contacted, therefore by not receiving a telephone call you have been unsuccessful with your application on this occasion.

Should you be selected for interview among the questions asked will be a variety of behavioural questions. When answering these questions the examples you provide should relate to what you have actually done in specific situations.

You will need to tell the panel,
(1) what was the situation or task,
(2) what did you do; and
(3) what was the outcome.

It is important that you do not respond to these questions by telling the panel what the organisation or the team did, or general comments on what you would do.

Applications should be addressed to:
Human Resources Officer
Alpine Shire Council
PO Box 139,
BRIGHT VIC 3741
or via email to jobs@alpineshire.vic.gov.au
or via facsimile to 03 5755 1811
