Myrtleford is located in the Ovens Valley and is in the north-west part of the Alpine Shire.

Community Profile

Myrtleford Framework Committee
The Alpine Shire is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from Myrtleford community members to participate on the Myrtleford Framework Committee. The Myrtleford Framework Committee will provide assistance to the Alpine Shire to develop the Myrtleford Framework Plan and to assist in subsequent annual reviews.

It is proposed to develop a Framework Plan for Myrtleford to reveal the relationships, issues and opportunities specific to the township and subsequently provide the necessary clarity for the prioritisation of projects and initiatives in accordance with community opinion and available resources. The Framework Plan will bring together the issues, opportunities and recommendations identified in the range of relevant strategic documents including the ‘Myrtleford Masterplan for consideration and discussion.

Community Profile
A Community Atlas has been developed for each township in the Alpine Shire, to act as a reference document where known statistics, information and relevant material to each township is compiled. The documents contain a town profile as well as asset mapping.

The atlas documents are too large to appear on Council's website. Full documents including photographs can be obtained by requesting the full CBI series on CD Rom, from the Community Services department on (03) 5755 0555, or by requesting via email.

Statistical data has been summarised from Australian Bureau of Statistics information for each town, creating a township 'demographic profile' . The Myrtleford profile can be obtained here.
