Kerbside pruning collection  Printer Friendly

Council offers an annual collection of garden prunings from residents’ naturestrips. The prunings are chipped and then made available to residents for use on their gardens. Residents can collect the mulch from the venues listed below, once the collection is complete.
The 2009 collections will take place in the following towns on the following days:

Myrtleford township
Monday 20 July, 2009

Mount Beauty, Tawonga South, Tawonga and Dederang townships
Monday 27 July, 2009

Bright, Porepunkah, Wandiligong and Harrietville townships
Monday 3 August, 2009

The following conditions apply to the collection service:

1. Prunings will only be collected once per household on or near the date specified for each township. Households placing unacceptable material or not abiding by the timetable will be responsible for removing these items from the road reserve.

2. Prunings placed on a nature strip too early will constitute a local law infringement i.e. no more than two weeks prior to collection.

3. Prunings must be:
• Neatly stacked with ends one way on the naturestrip, not obstructing vehicular or pedestrian traffic
• Have minimum diameter of 20mm
• Have a maximum diameter of 200mm
• Be no longer than 2 metres
• Be less than 3 cubic metres total loose volume
• On the nature strip by the specified date.

4. The following materials are unacceptable and will not be collected:
• Vines and creepers
• Blackberries, roses etc
• Tree stumps, and tree roots.
• Wire, string, metal, plastics etc.

Chipped prunings will be available to the public at no cost and may be collected from the following locations:

Bright - Coronation Avenue, Football ground and Pony Club
Mount Beauty - Embankment Drive, opposite Shire Depot
Harrietville - Clarrie Keating Reserve
