Panel Windows
Panel Selection

There are four different panel windows. Each window has a specific function which is outlined below. The panel windows can be changed by using the buttons at the top of the panel on the left side of the map.

Search
This is the default panel window. Choose a query from the menu (the default is ‘Find an address’). Enter the appropriate details in the text boxes provided and press submit at the bottom of the panel.

The following queries are available:

 Find an address
Find a parcel by lot/plan number
Find a parcel by crown allotment

Query address

Example
If you wanted to locate the address, 29 Churchill Avenue Bright, you would choose the ‘Find an address’ query and enter the details in the appropriate fields:

Tips:

If you do not know the information for a particular field you don’t need to enter it, only the road name requires a value.
You can use lower or upper case or a combination of both when entering values.
If an address has a start and end number eg. 20-24 Churchill Avenue, then by typing in 20, 22 or 24 the address will still be found.

Results
The information panel will only show information when a feature or features are selected.

A map is made up of a number of layers and one or more layers can be selected at any time using the Information Select tool.

Information eg1

Example 1
A number of properties are selected via a query. The drop-down menu displays the current layer that is selected (in this case it will have only the Parcel Boundary layer displayed). The pick-list below allows the user to select the feature of the Parcel Boundary layer that they require information about.

Information eg2

Example 2

A storm water pit is selected as well as the property it falls on. The pick-list at the top allows the user to select the layer that they want to get information from.

Tip:

The information panel can be accessed using the panel buttons and is also automatically activated when a feature is selected using the Information Select tool.

Print

Print
The print panel allows the user to print out the map that is shown in the map window. The map will be created in a web browser page as a popup. If your web browser currently has popups disabled this needs to be changed before the page can be printed. The print panel looks like this:

The second drop-down menu lists the print templates that are available for the particular workspace that the user is in. There is only a single print temple to choose from at this stage. Under the heading ‘Print Scale’ there are a number of options for the scale at which to print the map:

Use current map zoom - this prints the map as it is currently shown on the screen.
Zoom to selection - this is only available if there is a feature(s) currently selected, if there is a feature selected this option will zoom to the feature before printing the resulting map.
Zoom to active feature - this is only available if there is a feature(s) currently selected, if there is a number of features selected this option will zoom to the extent of all the features before printing the resulting map.
Print scale at 1: xxxx - this allows the user to choose from a number of pre-defined scales at which to print the map.
Print at exact scale 1: xxxx - this allows the user to enter the exact scale at which to print the map.

The additional information area provides a space to input a title for the map as well as some comments which will appear on the print out. Once all the relevant information has been entered press ‘Print’ at the bottom of the panel.

Legend panel

Legend
This panel provides a description of the different features that are present on the map. If there are a number of elements associated with a single feature, click on the '+' symbol to expand the list.

Status Bar
The status bar provides feedback to the user when tools such as the measure line and area are used as well as when a query does not produce any results.
