The Alpine Region Tourism Board was appointed by Council in 2008 after a review of the former Alpine Region Tourism Committee.
The Board's vision is:
“to make the townships, the valleys and the mountains of the region the most desirable tourist destination in Victoria”

| Alpine Region Tourism Strategic Plan 2009-2011 | | The Alpine Region Tourism Strategic Plan 2009-2011 has the main objective to generate increased visitation, yield, length of stay, and visitor dispersal -geographic and seasonal - to deliver year-long prosperity.
The Strategic Plan's vision is:
"To market the townships, the valleys, and the mountains of the region as the most desirable destination in Victoria."
