Alpine Shire Council - Contribute to the Rural Land Strategy
Alpine Shire Council
Contribute to the Rural Land Strategy

COUNCIL is calling on residents to have their say on the Rural Land Strategy for the Alpine Shire.

The strategy will respond to the key competing rural land functions and issues.

It will also determine how and if these matters can be accommodated in a sustainable manner that benefits current and future populations.

The key issues include:

Agriculture
Rural based tourism
Landscape (visual amenity)
Environment
Rural lifestyle (residential) development
Subdivision

The strategy will take into account changing agricultural practices and the demand for continued rural land development.

Council is currently seeking the views of the rural and broader community on the issues surrounding the use and development of rural land.

Anyone wishing to contribute can access the survey here.

The questionnaire is also available in hardcopy from Council Offices, Churchill Avenue, Bright, or by contacting Strategic Planner Sally Beers on 5755 0561 or email info@alpineshire.vic.gov.au.

Answers must be submitted by Thursday, 22 December.
