Council launches online Project Dashboard

VIEWING and tracking the progress of capital works projects across the Alpine Shire is now easier for communities, with the launch of Alpine Shire Council’s Project Dashboard.

Council’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Will Jeremy said the online tool allows residents to find and track the projects which are important to them, in real time.

“The Project Dashboard shows the projects we are currently working to deliver in our communities,” he said.

“As each stage is completed the system is updated to show where we are tracking.

The dashboard was designed in-house and is one of the first of its kind in the local government sector.

“We’re really proud of this product,” Mr Jeremy said.

“There aren’t too many other municipalities, or government departments for that matter, which are displaying and tracking projects publicly in this way.

“It’s an example of our commitment to transparency and ensuring that our communities know where their rates are being spent.”

The dashboard uses colour-coded icons to show the progress of a project across key stages:
• PLAN - Confirm the scope and timing of project work required.
• DESIGN - Identify the functional requirements, finalise design documentation and estimated costs.
• PROCURE – Seek and evaluate quotes for the works, appoint a contractor to undertake the works.
• BUILD - Build, or implement, the project works.
• FINISH - Finalise all minor works and hand over the completed project for operation and maintenance.

The Project Dashboard can be viewed HERE.

An online Project Pipeline will be publicly released next week, showing where projects are positioned for possible future delivery.
