| Bright Sports Centre | | The Bright Sports Centre is quickly becoming a fitness hub, undertaking many improvements since Council officially became the owner on Friday, 7 August 2009.
Features of the facility include a 17m indoor swimming pool, squash courts and a gymnasium that was recently boosted by five state-of-the-art cardio machines.

The Bright Sports Centre is currently open between the following hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm
Friday: 7am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm
Saturday: 9am to midday

| The Alpine Shire Council operates two outdoor municipal swimming pools during the summer season. These pools are located in Myrtleford and Mount Beauty and provide for lap swimming, swimming club training and events, water safety and learn to swim classes and recreational swimming.
An indoor heated pool is located at the Bright Sports Centre in Bright, and provides lap swimming, learn to swim classes, aqua aerobics, recreational swimming and hydro-therapy. This facility operates 12 months of the year.
During the summer, the Alpine Shire Council also operates river pools at Bright and Porepunkah, water quality permitting.

Mount Beauty Swimming Pool, located on Pool Road opposite the Post Office, has three solar heated pools, a toddler, intermediate and 33m main pool.
There are shady lawns and a well-stocked kiosk.
The pool is open for swimming in the morning, afternoon and evenings on weekdays and the during the afternoons on weekends (please check with the centre for lap lane availability). Some of the special activities to promote health and fitness the centre offers are: weekly swimming lessons for all ages; a Learn To Swim Holiday Intensive Program in January; and a twice a week "Seniors' Hour".
The pool is the home of the Mount Beauty & District Amateur Swimming Club. You can contact the club on (03) 5754 4432 for information about club training, competitions and other activities.Top

Myrtleford Swimming Pool; located on Standish Street near to the caravan park and tennis courts, has a toddler, intermediate and 25m main pool and kiosk (Please check with the centre for lap lane availability).
With shade and grassy areas the pool is a great place for families to spend a hot summers day.
The pool is the home of the Myrtleford Amateur Swimming Club.

| River pools - Bright and Porepunkah. | | The Bright River Pool was opened on Friday, 31 December, allowing use of the Rotary Water Slide.
The Porepunkah River Pool is expected to open on Thursday, 6 January.
Water quality monitoring program
Weekly water quality sampling for E.coli at the River Pools at Bright and Porepunkah is undertaken by Council during November, December and January. These E.coli results are used by Council to provide the weekly update of the condition at each site.
