More than $10,000 worth of improvements have been completed, with a new footpath now linking the hall and Tawonga Store, a new driveway and front door. Council’s Manager Development Services and Amenity Nick Vlahandreas said the space provided the community with a valuable venue to meet and hold events. “The Tawonga Hall is also a designated Neighbourhood Safer Place in the event of a bushfire, so it’s a priority to ensure it’s accessible,” he said. The $9000 footpath from Tawonga Store to the hall was sourced from Bushfire Recovery Funding and the driveway and works to the hall from Neighbourhood Safer Places funds.
