North East Transport Connections Project
North East Transport Connection Project
The North East Transport Connections Project (NTCP) is funded through the Victorian Government’s Transport Connections Program, a cross government initiative to help communities work together to improve local transport. There are approximately 26 project across Victoria’s regional community and outer metropolitan areas.

The NTCP aims to develop an effective, efficient and sustainable transport service system in North East Victoria. The project covers five local government areas as transport cannot be defined by local government boundaries. The local government areas of Alpine, Indigo, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga are involved in the project.

The project commenced in 2007 and will run for three years. Details of the project success for 2007/2008 can be found in the Northeast Transport Connections Project – Summary Report 2007/2008.

The North East Transport Connections Project has also compiled the Alpine Shire Transport Options Booklet, which provides transport information about local services and timetables for the Alpine Shire community.

Alpine Transport Advisory Group
To assist in North East Transport Connections project progression an Alpine Shire Transport Advisory group has been established. This group was set up in December 2007 and has been working on a range of transport “tasks” including developing transport information booklets, transport surveys and a transport Action Plan.
