The collection consists of approximately 1250 articles relevant to the station, the railways and the local area.

This includes railway artefacts, signals, retired rolling stock such as a 1917 BU passenger carriage, 1907 CE class luggage van, ZL guards van and five goods wagons, aboriginal artefacts and Chinese memorabilia.

A replica Chinese Temple was constructed at the museum in 2007.

OPENING HOURS
September - May
Sunday: 2pm - 4pm.
During school holidays or festivals
Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, or by appointment.

The Bright RSL Sub-Branch Museum's mission is to preserve, exhibit and interpret artefacts, icons and memorabilia in order to promote and commemorate Australia's military heritage within the local community .

The collection includes numerous interpretive static displays, unique local art/photographic works, comprehensive military reference library, audio visual technology and a genealogical military records research capability.

The scope of the Museum facility covers Australia's key conflicts including the Boer War, WW I & II, Vietnam and Peacekeeping Missions.

OPENING HOURS:
Friday: 4:30pm - 6:30pm
Happy hour for members and invited guests.

The museum may be opened on request.

The Harrietville Museum is based upon the furnished front rooms of a restored miners cottage kindly donated by a local family with a display area attached to the rear.

The display area is regularly rotated with other items from within the society's archives.

In the grounds of the museum there are examples on display of various historic items from the mining history of the area such as a four head stamping battery and a steam traction engine.

The 'Harrietville Gold' display featuring Harrietville's mining history was officially opened in January 2011.

OPENING HOURS:
1 December - 30 April
Weekends: 12pm to 3pm.
Other times by appointment ($15 call-out fee applies).

$4 per person or $10 per family.

The Kiewa Valley Historical Society aims to preserve and conserve the history and heritage that is unique to the Kiewa Valley and surrounding Bogong High Plains.

The collection has many items that show the social history of how the first settlers of the Kiewa Valley and Mount Beauty lived, worked and socialised.

The collection includes photographs, books, farming equipment, hospital and technological equipment from the Kiewa Hydro Scheme, oral histories and genealogy records.

OPENING HOURS:
Daily
9am - 5pm.

ADMISSION:
Free entry.

Displays include old school room, 1930's kitchen and living room, gold mining equipment, barber shop and tobacconist cabinets, newspaper printing machinery, horse-drawn agricultural machinery, farming equipment, bottle collection, military photographs and memorabilia, and sporting trophies.

Genealogical research is also available with many photographs and records of historical significance including district scenery, local industries, people and events.

OPENING HOURS:
September - May
Sunday: 2pm - 5pm.
Other times available by appointment.

Adults: $2.00
Children: 50c
Research Fee: $10.00
