The Development Engineering unit is responsible for the development of policies, programs and projects in response to Council's infrastructure needs. This includes:

Driveway crossover policy

Street and Rural Road Numbering
Municipal Roads Register
Forward works program
Project investigation, survey and design
Traffic Speed zones and B double approval
New signage
Works relating to subdivisions and developments
New street lighting (for street lighting faults, please call SPI Ausnet on 131799)
Works relating to sub-divisions and developments
New street lighting
Road safety
Road Management Plan and register
 
Driveway crossover policy
The Driveway Crossover Policy seeks to:

* Assist the community in understanding their responsibilities regarding driveway crossovers;

* Provide direction for Council Officers for the management of driveway crossover construction and maintenance within Alpine Shire; and

* Provide consistency in streetscapes for towns, villages and rural roads within Alpine Shire.
